Just in case you didn't get the memo - there are parts of our day as a Mom that leave us feeling less than glamorous. 
Weird, right? 
You'd think after spewing forth a child from our loins, we'd get some sort of voucher redeemable for an eternity of effortless fabulousness.  The powers that be clearly didn't get that memo - so we still have to do things like laundry and dishes.

After years of fashion consultations and early-morning tangle fights; my girls are finally beyond the 'I don't care what I wear or if I brush my hair all week' phase and have traded it for an equally-annoying  'I'm changing my clothes 142 times a day' phase.  

I've always considered laundry and dishes to be the bane of my existence.  Crusty dishes and dirty underwears gross me out plus both chores chip my nails - double fail.  My distaste for the two chores may or may not have been a major part of the reason I had children, to begin with.    Free labor.    I'm kidding .. right ? :P  

There really is no help for my hate of dishes .. but I figured we could put some pretty junk up in the Laundry room as I find it slightly less annoying. 

Eventually I plan on making a lost sock board - but for now I've made 2 prints.

The Subway art (below) was the most fun, because the girls and the G. man chipped in; sharing their own creative laundry words. Our (almost)17 year old pointed out that if people aren't familiar with a couple of the brand names we put on there 'SNUGGLE' and 'SHOUT' - it's going to look like there's a crazy person washing laundry while hugging and screaming at people.   LOL

 

My favorites were 'endless' and 'repeat...' but one suggestion that didn't make it was "whites" and "colors."  A totally innocent suggestion by the G.man that led to us giving him a hard time for being racist. (haha-we're jerks). :P     If we can't laugh at ourselves .. we laugh at our loved ones ! :P

I put Washi Tape on the frame and it says "Made with Love."       I guess it's a little reminder in case you forget half way through a 20 pound pile of laundry how much you love making memories and dirty clothes with the smelly people in your family.    :)

There isn't a whole lot more in this world we need to survive, other than love. 

well .. I guess we do need food ..

shelter ..
chocolate ..

ok - FINE !
while there IS a long list of other things we need .. 

there ISN'T anything on Earth as awesome as love .   ;)

For my Valentine's decor, I framed a handful of prints I made; then placed 'em all around the house.  I didn't sit the prints up all by their lonesome selves.   They're hanging out with cute little friends, shiny rocks, fresh flowers and candies .. the best shit, ever. :)

don't forget to tip your waitress and hug your single friends - they need love, too !

I am & always have been a big fan of 'hearting' things.

I don't care how old I get - I'll always 'heart' this or 'heart' that.

I use the heart hands more often than I should openly admit and  let's not even talk about all the <3's for FB and emails ... don't judge!!

I made this because I heart my hubby and it's Valentine's soon ... he needs a printed little reminder; since I probably don't tell him enough.  :)

Long before the days of diapers, date night and carpools; I didn't like Valentine's day or anything the dreaded day stood for. Every 14th of February, I would loudly moan & groan about protest the red day of hearts, cupid and all things sweet.

That was until I saw the proverbial light in the form of the one true love who rocks my lifetime.

The kind, brilliant man that I'm lucky enough to know as my G.
Now, over a decade later I am the hopeless case you see before you.

I love love.

.. love of life .. love of family .. love of sunshine .. love of kindness ..
..new love .. old love .. love for all things, beautiful or damaged ..
*sigh*

I think you get it ..

G. and I were out thrift shopping, when they just happened to be placing out their Valentine's knick knacks, garlands, and countless paper heart decorations.

Imagine the horror on my face when I realized I didn't have decorations for Valentine's day. :P The extent of our collection was a few window vinyl clings and a handful of trinkets the girls made through the years.

I looked around the shelves at the newly displayed items and I knew the decorations they had to choose from, weren't going to do.

After several cups of coffee minutes of contemplation, I decided that framed printable little 'word art' would be the easiest to conquer. Print some word/subway art, put it into cool picture frames, fit to fit the seasons holidays & voila - we are festive ! <3

I will be eventually making some of my own printable art .. but for now - here's what I found through a bunch of pins, blogs, google, and begging random strangers on the street. (ok, so one of those isn't true ..)
